More than 4,000 professionals and 68,000 visitors attended the leading cycling festival, which will once again be held next year in Girona and the Costa Brava from 19th to 21st September.

Over 4,000 professionals from the international cycling industry, 68,000 visitors over the three days, more than 500 exhibiting brands, a full house at the bike mechanics training sessions, proposals to promote health through cycling, presentations of specialised tourist destinations, innovation and technology applied to the sector, 6,000 participants across all the cycling events… Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Continental has established itself as the ultimate event in a record edition that has united the entire cycling sector, from amateurs to professionals and a cycling industry that continues to become increasingly important in Spain’s economic sector.

The Sea Otter Connect space hosted high-level conferences and debates with experts who analysed the current situation and the future of the professional sector. The Euro Mobility Festival has also taken a big step forward, presenting numerous urban mobility proposals and reinforcing its role as a meeting point for the industry promoting the electric and urban segment with many enthusiasts and people interested in new mobility models in cities. All in all, the eighth edition of Sea Otter Europe has flooded Girona, the province and the Costa Brava, a region that highly values the economic impact of Sea Otter Europe.

Spectacular programme with road, MTB, gravel, electric bikes and trials

The third day began very early today with the start of the Ciclobrava by Orbea, in which 1,500 participants enjoyed the three road routes covering 70, 100 and 150 kilometres, starting and finishing in Girona, discovering the roads and landscapes of the Costa Brava and the Gavarres massif.

From early in the morning, thousands of visitors strolled through the extended Sea Otter Europe exhibition area on a day with a very intense sports programme. The Shimano Super Cup Massi of Girona was one of the highlights of Sunday, gathering hundreds of spectators along the course. In the elite men’s category, New Zealander Sam Gaze, who is based in Girona and came sixth at the Paris Olympic Games, won ahead of David Campos and Jens Schuermans. In the Elite Women’s category it was Italy’s Chiara Teocchi who won, followed by Rebecca Henderson and Anne Tauber.

Today it was also the turn of the children’s downhill race with the Mini DH Kids Cup, the Girona Trial Cup and the non-competitive start of the Gravel Ride Tour Girona, attracting 300 enthusiasts of this popular cycling discipline. At the same time, the Ebike Day Girona, an outing with electric mountain bikes, was also held.

For yet another day, the Demobike event was sold out, with hundreds of enthusiasts taking the opportunity to try out the equipment and bikes of the fifty brands offering their products free of charge. Over the three days of the festival there were nearly 4,000 outings to test different models of bikes from all segments: MTB, gravel, road and also those designed for city riding.

Sea Otter Europe 2025 dates announced

After another intense day with thousands of visitors, the doors of the eighth Sea Otter Europe closed at 3pm. The event has broken all its records and has already announced that next year’s edition will be held from 19th to 21st September in Girona and the Costa Brava.
