There is still time to sign up for a full weekend of events for people of all ages in Girona and the Costa Brava
Little more than a month remains before the start of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show, which is due to take place in Girona on 2, 3 and 4 June, an event many families have circled on their calendar. The festival offers a comprehensive and varied line-up of races suited to all age groups and skill levels, from internationally renowned riders with numerous victories to their name to enthusiasts of all cycling disciplines.
This open, family-oriented festival also welcomes children looking to enjoy a weekend dedicated exclusively to cycling and two-wheeled activities. As a result, over the festival’s three days, areas will be set up around Girona’s Fontajau Pavilion to make sure the little ones try out their very first bike, with activities such as pump tracks, agility courses for improving cycling skills, push-bikes, bouncy castles and even a training campus.
And for those who are a bit wary about getting in the saddle but still want to experience the adrenaline of cycling, there will also be a comprehensive line-up of BMX exhibitions, spectacular dirt jumps, cross-country, trials and unbelievable stunts performed by big jump experts.
Aware that the world of cycling excludes no one, the organisers have scheduled top-level professional competitions, activities for industry sectors, bike test areas and non-competitive events in a host of disciplines.
In MTB there is the SCOTT Marathon by Taymory (46 and 54 km), the Ghost BTT Marathon (84 km) which is non competitive and can be done by E-Bike, or the Copa Catalana Internacional BTT Biking Point; and in the road the Cycling No Limit Travel Cicloturista International by Ghost (80 and 125 km).
