Registration begins on 4 December
The Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show‘s cyclosportive event will include two stages and be part of the Gran Fondo World Tour, cycle touring’s most important international circuit. As a result, from 8-10 June, Girona and the Costa Brava will play host to a prestigious tour that includes races in six countries and on four continents (United States, South Africa, Italy, Norway, Kuwait and Kazakhstan). The participants, who hail from around the world, value the particular characteristics of this tour very highly, as they are able to move on to the next event without requiring a minimum score in the previous race.
Under this agreement, the second edition of the Sea Otter Europe Cycle Tour will be able to flaunt its international category and global repute, and will serve to showcase the excellent roads and stunning natural surroundings of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees to cyclists from all over the world.
Registration will begin on 4 December on Ticketoci. Those interested may also purchase the event’s exclusive maillot, designed by Taymory.
The Sport No Limit Travel International Cycle Tour by Ghost, which last year assembled just south of 1,500 cyclists, will take place over two stages, each with different routes. That way, anyone interested in doing so may take to the starting line twice, each time with the choice of two distances: Saturday 9 June, in the direction of La Garrotxa and Pyrenees, with 100 and 165km tracks, and Sunday, towards the Costa Brava and Les Gavarres, with 80 and 125km routes, all of which start and end in Girona. Both stages will also include a timed climb up a mountain pass. Participation in the two races is limited to 3,500 cyclists.
Something else new this year is the large tent that will be set up outside the Fontajau Pavilion to provide cyclists refreshments at the end of the race.
The cycle tour continues to be backed by Sport No Limit Travel, the official agency of Sea Otter Europe, and the prestigious German bike company Ghost. The alliances with two other important cyclosportive events, La Purito and l’Ariégeoise, rides that share the same passion for cycling and meticulously designed routes, have also been renewed.
The Sport No Limit Travel International Cycle Tour by Ghost will be one of the most popular events in the second edition of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show and fully epitomises the philosophy of the international festival, which will provide cycling enthusiasts a unique weekend with an extensive selection of sporting activities and an immense exhibition area.
The line-up of sporting activities is complemented with a diverse array of races, including the Catalan Cup International Massi Biking Point, which in Girona will boast a class 1 ranking according to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI); the Pirinexus 360 Challenge; the Scott MTB Marathon by Taymory; the E-MTB Marathon, with electric bikes; the XCO, with classic bikes; Trial Cup; Eliminator; BMX; MTB fun ride; Enduro; Children’s Downhill; and the Children’s MTB Open, as well as numerous spectacular exhibitions such as the Short Track, another new addition to this edition of Sea Otter Europe.
