Sea Otter Europe got the chance to chat to Unai Yus, representative for the Bioracer brand of sportswear.
– WHY IS BIORACER SPONSORING THE GIRONA GRAVEL RIDE?
Bioracer is a pioneering and leading company in the development of garments for sports activities, not just for cyclists, and gravel races combine several of our values. Gravel is the latest trend in cycling, but if we look at it more closely, it is the essence of cycling itself: riding bicycles that are as the closest thing possible to road bikes along trails. Gravel races help us to get a feel for those race pioneers from the early twentieth century but in a more modern way. Therefore, due to our passion for innovation, without ever forgetting where we come from, the Girona Gravel Ride is the event that best suits Bioracer.
– WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT SEA OTTER EUROPE?
Bioracer is cycling, passion, people riding bikes… And that’s why Sea Otter Europe is the best possible event for us. Why? Because it’s three days of pure cycling, with countless events and people riding bikes. We at Bioracer love to ride bikes… Ah, and it’s also a fair, which makes it even more perfect. But, without the first premise – outstanding events and people pedalling – we wouldn’t be there.
– WHAT DOES THE BRAND EXPECT FROM THE FESTIVAL AND FROM SPONSORING THE SPORTING EVENT?
Litres of sweat, a few scratches, a bit of blood and above all endless smiles. We think that’s what Sea Otter Europe is about, and that’s certainly what Bioracer is about: people riding bikes. In other words, the same thing that Bioracer is all about, creating the best clothes so that people feel comfortable on the happiness-producing device that is a bicycle.
The Basso Bikes Girona Gravel Ride by Bioracer will be held for the first time as part of Sea Otter Europe on Sunday 2 June at 9 a.m. Starting from the festival itself, it will traverse 75 km of beautiful roads through the Les Gavarres massif in Girona.
