Sales growth of e-bikes in all forms of cycling is not only sustaining and boosting the industry’s turnover, but is reflected in an increasing interest in competing with them.
Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava Girona by Continental has hosted two rounds of WES, the UCI World E-bike Series.
These two events are held right at one of the festival’s entrances, both of them qualifying rounds for the e-bike World Cup. Racers such as Jeroen van Eck, Jerôme Gilloux, Jose Antonio Hermida, Milton Ramos, Remy Absalon, Jofre Cullell, Carlos Coloma, and Joris Ryf in the men’s category, and Nicole Göldi and Malene Degn in the women’s category, among many others, have participated in these races
The two events will take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, respectively.
The WES World E-Bike Series was born in Monaco in 2019, to organise and promote the first international competition for all-electric bikes.
The WES 2023 calendar has 9 sporting events, two of which are part of the Sea Otter Europe festival in Girona.
