OFFICIAL TELECOM BRAND OF THE FESTIVAL
The Catalan telecommunications company will offer a free Wi-Fi service at Europe’s leading cycling trade fair
This year, Goufone is fully engaged in expanding its services throughout the counties of Girona
Goufone, the Osona-based start-up offering Internet, telephone and TV services, is once again supporting Europe’s most important cycling event of the year. The telecommunications company is set to install a Wi-Fi network at the Sea Otter Europe Bike Show so that festival visitors, brands and participants can enjoy high-quality internet.
Once again, and for the third edition, those attending the Sea Otter Europe Festival will be able to enjoy a high-quality Wi-Fi connection at the festival facilities thanks to Goufone. The Catalan telecommunications company, with more than 11 years of experience in the fibre optic, telephone and TV sector, has reaffirmed its support for Europe’s most important cycling event, which will take place on 24, 25 and 26 September, 2021.
Goufone will provide a high-quality free Wi-Fi network in the expo space so that the best brands and professionals in the cycling industry can perform bike test rides in a fast and safe way through the bike and go platform without any connectivity issues.
For Goufone, a close relationship with entities, associations and events based in the region is part of its DNA as a local company. Which is why, for yet another edition, Goufone is pleased to be able to support Sea Otter, one of the most important cycling festivals in Europe, which is in constant growth and evolution and takes place in the Girona region.
The Osona-based company is in the process of consolidating its position in the telecommunications sector. Goufone stands out in the market for having its own fibre optic network infrastructure and for its values based on proximity, centred on the real needs of users, especially those in sparsely populated areas. Initially, Goufone was created to cater for the lack of high-speed Internet in rural areas that conventional operators would take decades to reach, which is how the brand started out by deploying its own fibre optic infrastructure.
To date, Goufone has covered more than 3,000 km with its own fibre optic cables, and its Internet, telephone and TV services are available in 13 Catalan counties. This year, deployment has begun in the province of Girona: the provider already serves several municipalities in the counties of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and Gironès and is set to reach more than 30 towns by the end of this year. Deployment has also begun in the city of Girona and is scheduled to be completed by April 2022.
Goufone
Goufone was founded in 2010 in the county of Osona with the aim of providing Internet access to those towns and villages not served by large providers. The Catalan company has already deployed more than 3,000 kilometres of its own fibre optic network in 13 counties. Its founders are the Osona entrepreneurs Marc Mundó, Albert Boix and Joan Gaudes.
Goufone currently has more than 90 employees and offers Internet and mobile and landline phone and TV services to more than 23,000 users. It also has a network of seven branches throughout Catalonia.
