• This is a non-competitive race.
• The Track will not be marked,  the reason why it is important to bring a GPS with the track downloaded.
• Only E·bikes owners have the right to participate in this race.
• Participation from eighteen years old  (+18).

Art. 1.- La CANYON eMTB EXPERIENCE 2021 is a ebike mountain bike sporting event regulated by the Cycling for Everyone Rules and Regulations of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) within the framework of a cycling discipline conceived as physical exercise for sport, leisure and tourism or cultural purposes. The Event will be subject to the provisions of Articles 15 and successive articles of Annex II of Royal Decree 1428/2003, of 21 November, approving the General Traffic Regulations for the implementation and development of the text articulated in the Law regarding traffic, the movement of motor vehicles and road safety, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 339/1990, of 2 March. The cycling event is open to all members of cycling federations and non-member cyclists over the age of 18, to complete the 39km route of La Canyon eMTB Experience 2021.

The CANYON EMTB EXPERIENCE 2021 is a non-competitive event that will take place in a section of the city (during the start and finish of the pavilion) and much of it on trails, which means that all participants must exercise extreme caution throughout this section and always respect the highway code.

La CANYON eMTB EXPERIENCE 2021 is organised by the Club Esportiu Bike Catalunya, as part of the Sea Otter Europe Festival.

Art. 2.- La CANYON eMTB EXPERIENCE 2021will officially begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday 26 September, at Girona at Avinguda Tarradelles.

Art. 3.- Registration:

Registration will be open from 29 June 2021 until 21 September or until a maximum of 200 participants have registered.

Registration fees:

– 50,00€ (VAT included + insurance included)

Art. 4.- Registration includes insurance. By registering – automatically – the participant subscribes to the day license with the insurance provided by the organization. This insurance provides medical coverage for physical injuries suffered by the participant, but does not cover property damage to the bicycle or other supplements.

Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies acceptance of all the articles of these regulations, as well as of the conditions of purchase.

All prices are listed on the registration form available on this website and payment may be processed via the online payment system by credit or debit card.

Art. 5.- The organiser will provide the following material to all participants:

– Right of participation in the CANYON EMTB Experience

– Entrance to the festival site

– Bib number

– Liquid provisioning insurance

– Breakfast at Can Toscà (barbecue with accompaniment, in a typical Girona farmhouse)

– Medical assistance (medical services and ambulance)

– Bicycle cleaning area with hydro-cleaners upon arrival

– Gift of the event (exclusive shirt)

Art. 6.- Registrations shall be made through the Ticketoci payment gateway and refunds will be made according to its terms and conditions contract. If you wish to transfer registration to another person, this must be communicated by email and all the necessary details of the previous participant and the new participant must be provided.

Cancellation policy

Any cancellation of registration must be done by email to: [email protected].
Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Payment of the registration refund will be made by crediting the card used at the time of registration, in accordance with the following conditions:

CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION OR EVENT due to PANDEMIC or FORCED CUASES *:

In case of total cancellation or postponement of the event by government order due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the following conditions will apply:

– Transfer of the registration to the new proposed date of the sports event

– Transfer of registration in the next edition of the test (edition 2022)

– Change of ownership

– Refund of 85% of the registration fee, (15% for expenses incurred with the preparation of the test). The refund will be made in the same account of the card with which the payment was made.

* The event of forced causes includes, among other assumptions, the circumstances, acts or events such as -without limit- epidemics or pandemics, natural disasters, fires, floods, explosions, storms, earthquakes, riots, wars, acts of terrorism, civil commotion, this obligations and restrictions imposed by military or civil authorities, strikes and lockouts.

Art. 7.- Number plates shall be collected from the Fontajau pavilion:

Art. 8.- In order to collect the number plate, you MUST present a National Identification Card, passport or NIE.

Art. 9.- IT IS COMPULSORY TO WEAR AN APPROVED CYCLING HELMET.

Art. 10.- The route of the march will NOT be signaled so it will be essential to use GPS and download the track on the device.

Art. 11.- During the event, the organiser will provide a specialised medical point in the finish area and a broom bicycle.

Art. 12.- Solid and liquid refreshments will be located at:

– km 20 – Can Toscà (Solid and liquid refreshment point)

Art. 13.- The event can be carried out on an ebike bike but it can also be done on a conventional mountain bike. It is also possible to ride it on a gravel or cyclocross bike, although it is not recommended.

Art. 14.- Cut-off time. There is no cut-off time.

Art. 15.- All participants must obey and adhere to road traffic regulations. The start and finish section of the event runs on roads open to traffic. Anyone who does not comply with road traffic regulations shall be expelled from the event and subsequent editions.

By registering for the event, the participant accepts the risks inherent to participating in an open road event (in the start / end section to the pavilion), and excludes the event organisers of liability for any incident or accident arising from participation. Art. 16.- The organiser shall not be held responsible for any accident caused or suffered by the participant, who must be covered by the accident insurance included in the event registration. Nor will the organiser be responsible for any costs or debts that the participant may incur during the event, or any losses or breakdowns that the participants’ bicycles or other equipment may suffer.

The participant exempts the organiser from any responsibility for loss or damage of personal objects, for any reason.

Art. 17.- The organiser guarantees full compliance with data protection regulations and, thus, in accordance with Organic Law 15/1999, the participant is informed and gives their consent to the incorporation of their data in the existing automated files of the organiser and to their processing for use in relation to administrative and commercial procedures and other activities.

Art. 18.- The organiser reserves the right to make the necessary modifications that they deem appropriate. The organiser reserves the right to deny admission.

Art. 19.- Image rights. Acceptance of these rules and regulations implies, as a matter of obligation, that the participant authorises the organiser of La CANYON eMTB EXPERIENCE 2021 to record part or all of their participation in the event; gives consent for their image to be used for the promotion and dissemination of the event in any form (radio, press, video, photo, internet, posters, media, etc.), and cedes all rights relating to use for the commercial and advertising purposes that the organiser deems appropriate. The participant shall not be entitled to receive any financial compensation. This article also extends to photographs.

Art. 20.- The mere act of registering for the event implies acceptance of these rules and regulations and renunciation of all rights against the organiser, including the renunciation of any legal action that may result from their participation in the event.

Art. 21.- Sanctions will be strictly imposed on those participants who commit the following infringements:

– Not respecting road traffic regulations.
– Not respecting the safety instructions given by the police and by the organiser.
– Not going through the start control and others located along the route.
– Spoiling or degrading the route by leaving litter.

The penalties will be:

– Disqualification from the event, without the right to high-quality photography from the finish line.
– Suspension from participating in future events.

Art. 22.- The organiser will appoint a group of participants whose purpose shall be to ensure the safety of the event. These participants will be authorised to notify the organiser about the conduct of any participant in relation to the infringements described in Article 21. Such information will be treated in the same way as misconduct reported by the organiser itself.

Art. 23.- Participants are strongly advised to have a medical examination before participating in the event.
