The race will be held on September 20 in an event that is expected to host the best specialists in the world.
The sports nutrition brand 226ERS reaches a sponsorship agreement with the UCI Gravel World Series Sea Otter Europe Girona and becomes the new title sponsor of the race. The 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series Sea Otter Europe Girona will bring together the best riders in the world to conquer the throne of a race beloved by gravel fans. The agreement promises to raise the bar even higher for a race that was already a success last year, when it held its first edition.
The organization celebrates this alliance and is proud to have the support of an international brand that is a reference in its sector. The race will once again be part of the Sea Otter Europe program -19, 20 and 21 September-, being one of the main attractions within the huge range of sporting events offered by the festival.
226ERS’ commitment is to develop the best products with the most natural and highest quality ingredients. Details such as reducing or eliminating sugar, not using palm oil for ecological awareness and having gluten-free, vegan and absolutely GMO-free products are part of the brand’s philosophy. A brand created by and for sports enthusiasts that seeks to satisfy the individual needs of sportsmen and women in order to improve their performance and recovery.
Ángel Sevillano, CMO of 226ERS, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, underlining the brand’s specialization in endurance sports. “Since our beginnings, we have been a brand created by and for endurance sport lovers. Being title and official sponsor of Sea Otter Europe is to strengthen the confidence that professional athletes have in our products. 226ERS’ intention is to be able to individually satisfy the needs of each cyclist by developing and providing the best products to improve their performance”.
In addition to being the official title, the sports nutrition brand 226ERS will be present at the competition with top quality products such as energy gels, bars and salts at the refreshment stations.
The announcement comes after a successful first edition of the UCI Gravel World Series-Sea Otter Europe Girona. The stars of the sport travelled to Sea Otter Europe – held in Girona, one of the gravel capitals. The event attracted the attention of Matej Mohoric – at that time world champion of the specialty – and well-known faces from the cycling world, such as Alejandro Valverde, Matevž Govekar – winner of the race – and Samuel Sánchez, among others.
The women’s category was equally well represented with riders of the stature of Alicia González, Alison Jackson or Tiffany Cromwell – winner of the race. A total of around 750 cyclists took part in the start of the race. The organization expects to exceed this figure in the next edition on September 20.
